Touring Exhibitions Programme
Museum Boijmans Van Beuningen operates a touring exhibition programme with artworks from the museum’s eclectic collection. It offers high-quality exhibitions conceived around a number of the museum’s core collections, such as the Dutch seventeenth century, Modern Classics, Design, contemporary trends and works on paper, as well as several transhistorical shows. The collection presents an infinite number of possibilities that can be explored together with venues.
Travelling museum
The Touring Exhibitions Programme provides ready-made concepts and finetunes them with the borrower. It also provides an opportunity to make a personal choice from our collection and put together an exhibition with the assistance of museum staff. We develop the concept together and agree on the choice of works of art. We offer optional supplementary services, including an accompanying publication, educational programmes, films and extra technical support. The museum is also happy to assist the borrowing institution with complementary activities that will ensure the exhibition’s success.
Support
Through the touring programme we place the museum’s many years of experience in international loans and art transport at the borrower’s disposal, and our staff will oversee the installation of the exhibition with the utmost care and dedication. This naturally involves close consultation with the borrower to produce precisely the right exhibition for the institution concerned.
Shared goals
We work directly with you to develop inspiring exhibitions in the best possible conditions, creating an unforgettable experience for museum visitors. The museum charges a fee for these exhibitions, for its organization, development of the basic concept, curatorial texts and support and conservation of the works of art we lend. This ensures that the loan is properly prepared for safe transport and display in the venue. The borrowing institution pays standard loan costs, including packing and transport, insurance, courier supervision on location and local costs.
Exhibitions are tailor made for each venue and subject to availability.
